Nicosia Cyprus is the largest city on the island. It is situated on the River Pidieos and is located in the center of the country.
During the 1960’s the city was divided between the island’s Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots in the North and South.

City Information
South of the Green Line (the area that separates the North and South of Cyprus) is the main Business Center and where the Government is seated.
Nicosia hosts the University of Cyprus and four other Universities.

Sports Activities
The city has basketball, hand-ball and soccer clubs. APOEL and Omonia are the main basket-ball clubs. Keravonis is the volley ball club and the Gymnastic Club Pancypria (GCP) is one of the major Athletic Clubs of the island.
