The Beaches, Restaurants and Shops are definitely a nice day trip... The Old Monastery in the Village is nice break from the Wild, Wild and Wilder Resort. Nicosia(see Map of Cyprus) This is the capital city and I must say, quite lovely.. often overlooked, because it is in the center of the country and not surrounded by water.. It is a modern city with a Fantastic Shopping Mall. The heart of the city is enclosed by 16th Century Venetian Walls. There are quite a few Museums, Ancient Churches and Mediaeval buildings. It is quite unfortunate that this city is split in two. It is the only city in the world to remain divided by Turkish force.

This is my home town and it is really lovely... The Old Port hosts the Ancient Castle and the New Port hosts the Tourists Main Attraction of Cafes, Sea-Front Walk-way and Lounging Green pastures. The Shopping Street is nice for browsing; it is perfectly located near the sea-front.
